A year ago, on 18 December 2021, the PPM central platform was launched – a platform aggregating and showcasing the resources of all 8 local platforms of the PPM Project Partners. The launch of the central platform was part of the last stage of the PPM project implementation. Within the 12 months since the launch the Polish Platform of Medical Research has received 8 284 473 views and downloads from all 8 local platforms and the central platform altogether.
The resources available on the Polish Platform of Medical Research have grown enormously in the past year – PPM includes over 9,000 researcher profiles, over 300,000 publication records, over 12,000 Ph.D. thesis records and over 350 dataset records. There are also full text documents available on the Polish Platform of Medical Research – altogether, there are over 25,000 full text documents on the central platform (publications, Ph.D. theses, datasets).
The bibliographic records available on the central Polish Platform of Medical Research have been chosen to serve as the source of metadata for DOI registration for the publications, Ph.D. theses and datasets available in the PPM repository. The DOIs are registered through DataCite.
Since January 2020 the Polish Platform of Medical Research has been introduced to a wide audience at the following conferences: Open Medicine 2021, the 20th International Scientific and Practical Conference in Kyiv and the 38th Problem Conference of Medical Libraries as well as during the EAHIL 2021 Virtual Workshop and an international webinar organized together with ORCID, DataCite and Sages (the PPM system provider).
